Due to Citizen’s REDDI Report, Lenora Tuzroyluk Arrested for OUI

At 5.57 PM on August 27, 2023, a citizen called APD Dispatch regarding a small black vehicle being driven at speeds “in the triple digits” outbound on the Glenn Highway.  The caller also stated the suspect had driven into the center median.  Dispatch aired a locate for the vehicle over the radio.

A traffic officer working a speed detail, funded by the Alaska Highway Safety Office and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, heard the locate.  He was outbound on the Glenn Highway, near the Eklutna Flats, when he clocked a 2017 black Jeep being driven 97 mph in a posted 65 mph zone.  The officer conducted a traffic stop.  Upon his contact with the driver, 47-year-old Lenora D. Tuzroyluk, the officer noticed signs of impairment.  After administering Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), the decision was made to charge Tuzroyluk with Operating under the Influence.

Tuzroyluk was transported to the Anchorage Jail for further processing.  While there she provided a breath sample that showed her breath alcohol content was over two times the legal limit.  She was remanded at Hiland Correctional on the charge of OUI.  She was cited for Speeding and Driving Without Proof of Insurance.
