Former APD Officer ,Scott Boneta, Arrested on Multiple Felony Charges

On October 1, 2023, APD officers became aware of a sexual assault that took place in late 2022,  involving former APD officer 33-year-old Scott Boneta. Detectives with the Special Victim’s Unit immediately began a comprehensive criminal investigation.

During the sexual assault investigation, officers found probable cause, based on Boneta’s recent actions, for Burglary and Stalking. Boneta was also being investigated for multiple Criminal Use of A Computer offenses by APD at the time of the report.

At 10:27 PM on October 1, 2023, Boneta was taken into custody, questioned by detectives, and remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charges of Sexual Assault in the First Degree, Sexual Assault in the Second Degree, Burglary in the First Degree (2 counts), Stalking and Criminal Use of A Computer (7 counts),.

This is an ongoing investigation, and detectives believe there may be other victims at this time. Boneta was not on duty during the Sexual Assault, Burglary, or Stalking incidents.

Boneta was an officer with APD for 3 ½ years and was assigned to Patrol. He is no longer employed by APD.
