Homicide; 1100-block E 66th Avenue

UPDATE on 7/2/19:

Through the investigation it has been determined that 37-year-old Joshua J. Pettis shot and killed his girlfriend before turning the gun on himself.  Next-of-kin notification procedures been completed for Pettis. The female’s name will not be released due to this being a DV crime.

UPDATE on 6/8/19 at 10:45 PM:

While the circumstances surrounding the deaths are still being investigated, detectives believe they have made contact with everyone involved and are not currently looking for anyone.  No charges have been filed at this time.  The names of the deceased will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.


ORIGINAL:

At 6:12 PM on Saturday, June 8, 2019, Anchorage Police responded to a residence on the 1100-block of E 66th Avenue due to a report of a deceased individual.  Upon arrival officers found two deceased adults inside the home.  Homicide detectives and the crime scene team will be on location for quite some time processing the scene.

There have been no arrests at this time and no further details are being released.  Anyone with information regarding this incident, who have not yet spoken to police, are asked to call Police Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1).
