Homicide; 1100-block E 66th Avenue
UPDATE 11/20/18:
Detectives have identified two suspects in this investigation. Their names are Marquis Eloi (38 years old) and Scotty Mataia (30 years old). They both face multiple charges including Murder 1.
They are currently in-custody on federal charges related to this crime.
UPDATE ON 10/21/18:
The unoccupied 2008 blue Chevy Trailblazer, with Alaska plates JJR552, has been recovered.
UPDATE ON 10/20/18:
The victim has been identified as 35-year-old David Cargill of Anchorage.
Police are still looking for the 2008 blue Chevy Trailblazer with Alaska plates JJR552.
UPDATE AT 9:15 PM:
Detectives are asking for the public's help in locating a 2008 blue Chevy Trailblazer with the Alaska license plate JJR552. Police believe the vehicle may be connected to this investigation and left abandoned.

UPDATE/CORRECTION @ 5:56 PM:
The body was found near the old Eklutna Power Plant in Palmer which is in the jurisdiction of the Alaska State Troopers. During the course of the investigation it was determined the actual death most likely occurred in the jurisdiction of the Anchorage Police Department. For that reason the case is now being worked by APD.
No further information is being released at this time.
ORIGINAL:
On 10/17/18, Alaska State Troopers responded to an area on the property of the Eklunta Power Plant for a report of a body found. When troopers arrived, they discovered the body of an adult male with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Homicide detectives with the Anchorage Police Department were notified since the location is in APD jurisdiction. The body was taken to the Medical Examiner and it’s been determined the victim was shot multiple times in the upper body. This is now a homicide investigation. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time pending next of kin procedures.
