Homicide; 1500-block Charter Circle
Update on 3/29/16:
The victim from the Charter Circle shooting has been identified as 30-year-old Aaron Syvinski. His next of kin have been notified.
Update at 8:00 a.m.:
Anchorage police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting of an adult male at a residence located on Charter Circle just before midnight. Police received a call around 11:40 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, stating that a male had been shot inside the apartment and needed immediate medical help. Officers and medics responded, and the gunshot wound victim was transported to the hospital. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital just before 12:20 a.m. The victim's identity will not be released until next of kin have been notified by police.
A preliminary investigation of the incident found that the victim was in an altercation with another occupant of the residence; the victim was shot by the person he was in an altercation with. Police are further investigating the circumstances surrounding the altercation and shooting that took place. No charges or arrests have been made at this time. Additional information will be provided as it comes available.

Just before midnight, Anchorage police received a call that an adult male had been shot at an apartment residence located on the 1500 block of Charter Circle. Police and medics responded, and the gunshot wound victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly thereafter. APD’s Crime Scene Team and Detectives have responded to investigate the shooting further.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are not looking for any suspects at this time. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and evidence is being collected at the scene. Additional information will be provided on this case as more facts are confirmed.
