Homicide; 2600-block W 29th Avenue

Update on 12/11/18:
The victims have been identified as 19-year-old Daniel L. Bender JR and 19-year-old Davon M. Dodge.

No further details are being released at this time as the investigation is ongoing.

Update:
The preliminary investigation found that the two adult males were meeting inside a truck to discuss the sale of a gun between each other. At some point, the two got into an argument and shot each other.

Officers stopped a vehicle in the area and detained the driver for questioning. The driver wasn't involved and was released.

This is an isolated incident. Detectives are not looking for any suspects.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time pending next of kin procedures.

On 12/9/18 around 5:10 p.m., Dispatch received a report of shots fired in the 2800 block of West 29th Avenue. Officers with the Patrol Division found two adult males shot around a vehicle parked in the street. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit along with the Crime Scene Van are headed to the scene.

West 29th Avenue between Turnagain Street and Wisconsin Street are closed.

Please avoid the area.

There is no suspect/suspects information to release at this time.
