Homicide; Point Woronzof Drive parking lot

Update 3/14/19 at 2:09 PM:
The suspect was released from the hospital, arrested and transported to jail.

Update 3/14/19 11 a.m.:
Detectives have determined the adult female is the suspect in this investigation. She stabbed her daughter and then intentionally injured herself.

The suspect has been identified as Kelsey Jackson (24 years old). She faces charges of Murder 1 and Murder 2. A warrant has been issued for her arrest and she will be taken into custody once released from the hospital.

Update 3/13/19 2 p.m.:
Detectives have determined this to be an isolated incident and are not looking for any suspects at this time.

The juvenile female victim was stabbed multiple times. The adult female’s injuries were self-inflicted.

The identity of the victim isn't being released due to her being a juvenile and a DV victim.

Update 3/13/19 9:30 a.m.:
Detectives have cleared the scene and reopened the parking lot.

Original 3/13/19:
Around 6:40 a.m., our partners with the Airport Police and Fire Department notified us about a deceased child and an adult female located inside a 2008 Ford Edge at the Point Woronzof parking lot. The child had fatal injuries to the upper body. The adult female was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The type of injuries to the victim and the adult female are undetermined. No arrests have been made at this time.

Anyone with information about this investigation, including surveillance video, is asked to call Dispatch at 911.

The Point Woronzof parking lot is closed indefinitely as detectives with the Homicide Unit investigate.

The Airport Police and Fire Department is assisting in this investigation.
