Homicide; 1000-block W 26th Avenue

Update at 5:15 PM:
The victim has died at the hospital; this is now being investigated as a homicide. The District Attorney has the discretion to make any necessary adjustments to the existing charges filed against the suspect.

The victim's name will not be released as this is a DV crime.

Update at 3:07 PM:
Detectives have arrested the suspect in this investigation. They believe the suspect and the victim got into a physical altercation inside the apartment. At some point, the suspect caused the victim to go unconscious and stop breathing.

The suspect has been identified as Henry Bailey (42 years old). He faces a charge of Assault 1.

Detectives have determined this crime to be domestic related.

On 3/7/19 at 5:23 a.m., Officers with the Patrol Division were dispatched to a residence on the 1000 block of W 26th Avenue in reference to a report of an adult female found unresponsive and not breathing.

Upon arrival, Mid Shift Patrol Officers located the adult female victim inside the residence and immediately began administering life-saving efforts. She was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. The preliminary investigation found that the adult female victim suffered trauma to the upper body. There were multiple people inside the residence at the time of the incident, and all of them have been contacted and taken in for questioning by Detectives.

Detectives have cause to believe that this is an isolated incident. They are not seeking additional suspects. No arrests have been made at this time.
