Homicide; 8400-block Duben Avenue

UPDATE on 5/14/20:
The adult male victim has died as a result of his injuries. This is now a homicide investigation.

The preliminary investigation found that there was some kind of verbal altercation between the adult male victim and an adult female in the residence that turned into a physical fight. At some point during the fight, the female stabbed the male and fled the scene, but later returned. The circumstances at this time appear to be domestic related.

Detectives interviewed multiple people, to include the adult female suspect, and there are no additional persons of interest at this time. The investigation remains ongoing.

During the process, 35-year-old Maisha Douglas was arrested on her outstanding warrants.

The victim's identity will not be released due to this being a DV crime.

At 7:05 PM on May 13, 2020, Anchorage Police responded to the 8400-block of Duben Avenue in reference to a stabbing. Upon arrival officers located an adult male with a stab wound to the upper body. He has been transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

While the motive for the assault is still under investigation, it is believed to be an isolated event. One person has been detained and will be transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives.

Police will be in the area for quite some time while the scene is being processed. Anyone with information regarding this crime, who has not yet spoken with police, is asked to call APD Dispatch at 3-1-1 (option #1).
