At approximately 6:45 PM on Wednesday, December 23, 2015, Anchorage Police arrested 23-year-old Solomon Brown Tavita, at a residence in Spenard, without incident.  Tavita was charged with two counts of Murder II and one count of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance III.

RECAP OF EVENTS:  On Monday, December 21, 2015, Linda Chattell (who was arrested the next day) was driving a Toyota Corolla with passengers Solomon Tavita and Jeramyha Talauega. They met with Robin Porter and Meghan (Pugh) Porter, who were in a red Dodge Durango, for the purposes of buying drugs.  Jeramyha got out of the Corolla and got into the Durango occupied by the Porters.  After an argument broke out, both Porters and Jeramyha fired weapons at one another inside the Durango.  Jeramyha exited the vehicle and died at the scene.

Meghan Porter then drove her husband, Robin Porter, to a nearby hospital where Robin later died (Meghan was arrested shortly thereafter).  Enroute to the hospital, Linda Chattell and Solomon Tavita briefly pursued the Porters but the Porters were able to elude them.

Original on 12/21/15:

Anchorage Police are investigating a double homicide that occurred shortly after midnight today in West Anchorage.

At 12:31 AM, APD received several calls from citizens who reported hearing shots fired and seeing two vehicles chasing each other near West Tudor Road between Lois Drive and Harding Drive.  Officers arrived within minutes and discovered the body of a young male who had just been shot lying near the railroad tracks.  The man was identified as 22-year-old Jeramyha Talauega; he was declared dead at the scene.

Approximately 20 minutes later, Officers responded to a local hospital where a 33-year-old male, identified as Robin Porter, was brought in suffering from a gunshot wound. Porter died shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Porter's wife, Meghan (Pugh) Porter, 31, had driven her husband to the hospital and later told police that the shooting was over a drug deal that had gone wrong.

Both Meghan and Robin Porter had agreed to meet Talauega to sell him drugs.  Talauega arrived in a vehicle and got into the Porter's vehicle to conduct the transaction.  An altercation occurred inside the Porter's vehicle and guns were fired by all three occupants before Talauega jumped out.  A brief chase ensued between the Porters and the driver of the other vehicle; however, the Porters were able to elude the second vehicle before arriving at the hospital.

Police arrested Meghan (Pugh) Porter, charging her with Murder 2, Manslaughter, and Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance.

Police are still looking for the vehicle Talauega arrived in, along with the driver, but details concerning that vehicle aren’t being released at this time.

This morning’s incident marks the 24th and 25th homicides of 2015.
