Jamies Piliati arrested for an early-morning felony assault
At 12:14 AM on June 16, 2022, Anchorage Police responded to a business on the 3900- block of Spenard Road reference an assault. Upon arrival, witnesses pointed out the suspect to officers; the suspect was walking across the parking lot. After officers gave the suspect several commands to stop, the suspect finally did so. While speaking with the suspect, officers saw blood smears on several different areas of his body and clothing. Officers detained the suspect and transported him to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives.
Initial indications are that 26-year-old Jamies M. Piliati and another male got into an altercation outside the front of the store. The victim male went behind the building, and then reemerged with a 2x4 piece of wood; he attempted to strike Piliati with it. Piliati punched the male with his fist causing the victim male to fall to the ground. After the victim male was on the ground, Piliati stomped on the victim’s head multiple times causing the victim to go unconscious.
The victim was transported to the hospital with critical injuries that he is expected to survive.
After being interviewed Jamies Piliati was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charges of Assault I, Assault III, and Assault IV.
