Jason Plummer charged with OUI

At 9:50 PM on April 6, 2023, a citizen placed a REDDI call to APD Dispatch regarding a red Dodge Ram pickup that was being driven at erratic speeds, brake checking, and crossing all lanes of traffic.  At about the same time the call came in, APD’s Traffic Unit Sergeant saw the truck being driven outbound on the Glenn Highway, near the north Eagle River Exit, at 100mph (confirmed with a radar).  The sergeant aired a locate for the vehicle over the radio and then began to catch up to the truck.  A K9 officer advised he was on outbound on the Glenn Highway, near the S Birchwood Exit, and saw the truck catching up to his patrol car through his rearview mirror.

The sergeant and K9 officer initiated a traffic stop; the Dodge Ram pulled over at the S Birchwood Exit.  Upon contact with the driver, officers noticed signs of impairment.  After conducting SFSTs (Standardized Field Sobriety Tests), the decision was made to charge 48-year-old Jason M. Plummer with Operating Under the Influence (of suspected alcohol and THC).  He was also cited for Speeding and Driving on a Cancelled and Suspended License.

APD Case 23-11180
