MICHAEL LUIFAU ARRESTED BY K9 KEVIN FOR FELONY WARRANTS

At approximately 5:25 PM on April 9, 2025, members of the APD Investigative Support Unit (ISU) and APD K9 Unit were near the 2200-block of Muldoon Road attempting to contact 33-year-old Michael Luifau who had two outstanding felony warrants. The first warrant was for Failure to Appear for original charges of Misconduct Involving a Weapon 3 and Violating Conditions of Release. The second warrant was for a Probation Violation for original charges of Assault 1. Officers located Luifau near Halligan Drive when they gave him multiple commands to stop, to include K9 warnings, which he ignored. K9 Kevin was released and subsequently apprehended Liufau. The officers were able to take Liufau into custody without further incident. Liufau was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for the dog bite before being remanded to the Anchorage Correctional Complex for his warrants and Resisting Arrest.

None of the officers involved nor K9 Kevin were injured in during the incident.
