Damien Dollison Indicted for Anchorage Shooting

Oct. 2, 2024 (Anchorage, AK) – Yesterday an Anchorage grand jury indicted 52-year-old Damien Dollison on three counts of Assault in the Third Degree and two counts of Misconduct Involving Weapons in the Third Degree.

The charges stem from an incident that occurred after the Anchorage Police Department received a 911 call, alleging Mr. Dollison had pointed and fired a gun at an individual at a Circle K convenience store. The incident led to an armed confrontation with police.

Dollison is currently in the custody of the Department of Corrections and is being held on a $75,000 cash performance bond with the additional requirement of Third-Party Custodian. If convicted at trial, Dollison faces up to five years of imprisonment on each count.

These charges are only allegations and are not evidence of guilt. The defendant is presumed innocent and is entitled to a fair trial at which the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

From APD:  Until the criminal case has been adjudicated through the court system, the Anchorage Police Department will not be releasing the Body Worn Camera footage related to this incident.

Almost immediately after arriving at the scene, an officer advised at least one shot had been fired at the police.  A confrontation ensued wherein two officers ultimately discharged their weapons.  The adult male suspect was hit twice, once in the lower body and once in the upper body.  He was transported to the hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.
