Homicide: Thompson Ave. and N. Bunn

SUSPECT IS IN CUSTODY AND THERE IS NO PUBLIC SAFETY THREAT:

The deceased victim has been identified as 42-year-old Treyndon Lewis; next-of-kin notification procedures are complete.

33-year-old Paul Baldwin, Jr. was detained in relation to the case and arrested on an unrelated warrant. Further charges are pending. 30-year-old Chontae Ivery was charged with evidence tampering in connection to the incident.

Detectives have contacted everyone believed to be involved in this investigation and are not looking for anyone at this time. There are no current public safety threats related to this incident.

Suspect is in custody and there is no public safety threat.

The deceased victim has been identified and next-of-kin notification procedures are complete. Two people were detained in relation to the case; one has been arrested on an unrelated warrant with further charges pending. A second person was charged with evidence tampering in connection to the incident.

Names are being withheld due to an ongoing investigation.

Detectives have contacted everyone believed to be involved in this investigation and are not looking for anyone at this time.

Thompson Ave. between N. Bunn and N. Lane is now open.  

ORIGINAL

At 6:16 PM on Oct. 11, 2024, officers assigned to Patrol responded to the area of N. Bunn and Thompson in reference to a shooting. Officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital, where he was declared deceased.

The victim’s identity will be released once next-of-kin notification procedures have been completed.

The Crime Scene Team is responding to process the scene. Thompson Ave. between N. Bunn and N. Lane streets is closed. Please avoid the area and follow the officers’ instructions if you need to be in the vicinity.
