Service High School Threats Investigation

At 7:30 AM on September 28, 2022, a threat to cause harm on Service High School grounds was phoned in to APD Dispatch.  Both patrol officers and officers assigned to the School Resource Unit (SROs) responded to 5577 Abbott Road; Service was placed into lockdown.  Through the investigation it was determined the threatening phone call was made by a Service High student.  That student was taken into custody inside one of the classrooms without incident.

It was ultimately determined there were no weapons brought to the school nor did the student take any additional steps after placing the phone call to hurt anyone.  Charges for the student have been forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
