Terrell Love Charged in Burglary Investigation

At 4:20 AM on September 10, 2024, Anchorage Police Mid Shift Patrol Officers responded to JC Penney located at 406 W 5th Avenue regarding a burglary in progress. Officers met with the store manager and an asset protection agent who let police into the building.  While making their way to the third floor where the suspect was last seen, officers made multiple announcements that went unanswered.  Once arriving on the third floor, several more announcements were made to include K9 warnings.  When no response was received, K9 Rylin was deployed.  The dog entered a room and contacted the suspect’s arm.  The suspect continued to try and pull away as he was handcuffed.

Store merchandise and items belonging to store employees were found on 41-year-old Terrell L. Love’s person.  Once he was medically cleared at a hospital for the dog bite, Love was remanded at the Anchorage Correctional Complex on the charges of Resisting, Theft in the Fourth Degree, and Burglary in the Second Degree.
