Thanks to a citizen’s REDDI report, Tiffanie Oyagak and Frank Oyagak III were charged in an OUI Investigation

At 3:30 PM on February 11, 2022, a citizen called APD Dispatch to report an erratic driver.  The citizen stated that a female operating a black Chevy Silverado pickup was driving inbound on the Glenn Highway at high speeds and almost hit several other vehicles.  A REDDI locate was aired over the police radio.

A swing shift officer was driving on the Glenn when he heard the locate.  In his rearview mirror, the officer saw the Chevy coming up behind him at a high rate of speed.  The officer activated his RADAR which showed the Chevy was travelling at 79 miles per hour in a 65-mph zone.  The Chevy passed the patrol officer which allowed the officer to confirm the Chevy was the same vehicle aired in the REDDI locate.

The officer initiated a traffic stop by activating his patrol vehicle’s emergency lights.  The driver, later identified as 32-year-old Tiffanie L. Oyagak, abruptly pulled over to the side of the highway.  While the officer spoke with Tiffanie, he noticed signs of impairment.  After Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) were conducted, the decision was made to charge Tiffanie with Operating under the Influence.  She was remanded at Hiland Correctional for OUI and two counts of Violate Conditions of Release.

34-year-old Frank P. Oyagak III was a passenger in the vehicle.  A computer check revealed he had an outstanding felony warrant for an assault charge; Frank was remanded at the Anchorage Jail.
