Bobby Sickler, Jeremy Thomason, and Christin Starrett arrested in drugs and weapons investigation

***CORRECTION – The name the driver in this incident provided to police was false.  The driver’s true identity is 40-year-old Bobby A. Sickler.  The below narrative has been corrected to reflect the correct name.***

At 1:35 PM on November 15, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to the Holiday gas station located at 1500 E 5th Avenue regarding people passed out inside a vehicle that was parked at one of the pumps.  Officers assigned to both the Traffic Unit and day shift patrol responded.  They saw three adults passed out inside a silver Lexus; drug paraphernalia was lying in plain view.  The three suspects were woken up and detained without incident.  The Lexus was impounded and searched once a search warrant was obtained.  Officers seized several items for evidence to include a handgun the driver had been sitting on, heroin, methamphetamine, and fentanyl.

The driver, 40-year-old Bobby A. Sickler, was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charges of Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance II, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance III, Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance V, Misconduct Involving a Weapon II – Drug Crime, and Misconduct Involving a Weapon V.  Officers did administer Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs).  The results of those tests did not produce the probable cause necessary to support a Driving under the Influence charge for Sickler.

The front seat passenger, 39-year-old Jeremy N. Thomason, had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant; he was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on that warrant.

The rear seat passenger, 20-year-old Christin N. Starrett, had eight outstanding warrants that had been issued by Alaska State Troopers out of Palmer.  She was remanded at Hiland Correctional Center on those warrants.
