Andrew Jordan Arrested in Challenge Alaska Burglary Investigation
At 10:47 AM on July 22, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to Challenge Alaska located at 3350 Commercial Drive regarding a burglary. The locks had been forcibly removed from a large metal shipping container stored on the property. Several pieces of equipment were stolen from inside to include multiple bicycles.
At 7:05 PM on July 26, 2023, APD officers assigned to the Investigative Support Unit (ISU), Adult Probation Officers (PO), and Pretrial Enforcement Division Officers were on the 400-block of N Pine Street when they saw 29-year-old McKayla K. A. Ernest, who was wanted on a probation violation, standing outside. Upon seeing law enforcement, Ernest fled into the home and ignored multiple commands to come out. Officers entered the home after receiving permission to do so from the homeowner. Ernest was located and taken into custody without further incident. She was remanded at Hiland Correctional for the probation violation, and she was additionally charged with Resisting.
While at the home, officers saw bicycles on the property that had been stolen from Challenge Alaska four days prior. After obtaining a search warrant, the home and property were searched by APD Detectives. Three of the bikes taken in the burglary were recovered.
As part of the investigation, officers contacted 31-year-old Andrew J. Jordan who also resides at the N Pine Street residence. During his interview with detectives, it was determined Jordan was involved in the burglary at Challenge Alaska. He was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the felony charges of Burglary II and two counts of Theft II.
The investigation into the Challenge Alaska burglary is ongoing. Additional arrests and/or charges may be forthcoming.
