Homicide; 1500-block Medfra Street

Update on 9/20/17:

At 6:28 PM on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, Anchorage Police responded to the 1500-block of Medfra Street regarding an unconscious male and a physical disturbance.  Initial indications are that all four adult males involved live in the same 4-plex building.  The victim approached male #1 outside the complex and attempted to start a physical fight.  Male #1 did not want to fight and ran to another apartment for help.  The victim followed male #1 into male #2’s apartment and continued to try and fight them both.  Both males tried to hold down the victim.

Male #3 intervened and helped males #1 and #2 restrain the victim who was still trying to fight.  During the process of attempting to restrict the victim’s movements, the victim went unconscious and quit breathing.  One of the males immediately called 9-1-1.  All three males remained on scene and were cooperative with officers. No weapons were involved.

The victim was transported to the hospital where he was declared deceased.  His identity will not be revealed until next-of-kin notification has been completed.

No charges have been filed.  This case is still under investigation.  The cause of death will not be released until the autopsy report has been completed.
