Homicide; 4500-block Reka Drive


Update on 9/7/14:

Anchorage police have charged and arrested two individuals in the shooting death of 22-year-old Christopher Fulton Jr.

Jerel Williams, 26, has been charged with Murder 1, Robbery 1, and two counts of Murder 2. Samantha Herbert, 23, has been charged with Murder 2. This is still an ongoing investigation and detectives in APD's homicide unit are asking anyone with additional information regarding the shooting, who has not yet spoken with police, to contact APD at 786-8900.

Fulton Jr. was shot and killed inside of an apartment on Reka Drive last Thursday afternoon.

Note: A criminal charge is merely an accusation of criminal wrongdoing. All persons charged with crimes are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty by a court of law.

Update on 9/6/14:

Anchorage police have contacted 29-year-old Derrick Lannell Hall who is no longer considered a person of interest in a case regarding the fatal shooting of a male at an east Anchorage apartment last Thursday. APD appreciates Hall’s cooperation and communication with law enforcement during this investigation. Police reminds the public that a person of interest does not indicate they have committed a crime; a person of interest may or may not have information or knowledge that could assist in an investigation.

Police continue to investigate the fatal shooting in which 22-year-old Christopher Fulton Jr. was shot and killed inside of an apartment located on Reka Drive Thursday afternoon. No suspect(s) has been taken into custody.

Update on 9/5/14:

The victim in yesterday’s fatal shooting at an apartment on Reka Drive has been identified as 22-year-old Christopher Fulton Jr. Next of kin have been notified. A suspect has not been taken into custody. Police continue to investigate the shooting.

Police have been unable to locate a person of interest in the case, 29-year-old Derrick Hall. Anyone with information on Hall's whereabouts is asked to call APD Dispatch at (907)786-8900 and press "0."

Update on 9/4/14:

Anchorage police are asking the public for help in locating a person of interest that may have been involved in a fatal shooting at an east Anchorage apartment this afternoon off Reka Drive. Police are attempting to locate 29-year-old Derrick Lanell Hall who was last seen hitchhiking on the Glenn Highway this afternoon near Eklutna with a Native Female. Hall is described as a black male, 6’00” tall, 160 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. He may possibly be headed up to Fairbanks or located in the Mat-Su Valley. Anyone with information on Hall's whereabouts is asked to call police immediately.

Anchorage police are investigating a fatal shooting at an East Anchorage apartment this afternoon. Police dispatch received a call just after 2:00 p.m. reporting a male had been shot at an apartment located on the 4500 block of Reka Drive. Police and medics responded and a male who appeared to have a gunshot wound was declared deceased at the scene. Police were told the male had been shot by another male inside the apartment who fled from the residence after the shooting. A suspect has not been taken into custody. Additional details will be released as they come available.
