Seth Echols arrested by K9 Ray in burglary investigation

At 4:57 AM on August 22, 2022, a citizen called APD to report that someone was trying to break into her home through the front door.  Officers responded to the residence on the 5000-block of Anne Hathaway Circle.  Upon arrival, they saw 42-year-old Seth M. Echols standing on the front porch.  Echols was uncooperative and refused to comply with commands; officers also gave several K9 warnings which went ignored.  Echols turned away and again attempted to gain access into the home through the door.   K9 Ray was deployed; K9 Ray contacted Echols on his arm and mid-section which allowed police to take Echols into custody.

Echols was transported to a hospital for treatment of the dog bite. Echols refused to cooperate with medical staff.  Once he was medically cleared, Echols was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charges of Attempted Burglary and Resisting Arrest.

There is no indication that Echols and the homeowners know one another.
