Shooting Investigation: 3100-block of W 30th Avenue

25-year-old Justin T. Jackson was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the felony charge of Assault I.

At 4:54PM on May 19, 2023, Anchorage Police responded to the 3100-block of W 30th Avenue regarding a shooting. Initial indications are that a group of people were in an altercation outside when one of them pulled out a gun and discharged it.
Two people have been taken into custody. The adult male victim is being treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the lower body.
Police believe they have made contact with everyone involved; the reason for the shooting is still under investigation.
The intersection has reopened. Thank you for your patience while police worked the scene.

There is a large police presence around W 30th Avenue and Turnagain Street for a shooting investigation.
